Important Update Regarding Our 2021 Summer Season
|
|
|
In the spring of 2020, Corn Stock Theatre announced that we would postpone the summer season (including A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Annie, The Philadelphia Story, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Disney’s Mary Poppins) to Summer 2021. With the health and safety of our patrons, volunteers, performers, and stakeholders remaining our top priority, following the current Phase 4 guidelines established by the state of Illinois limiting outdoor seating capacity for performing arts venues to 20% of overall space capacity (this restricts our maximum audience capacity down to only 98 patrons per performance), and the limitations presented by the structural design of the tent space, we now know that transferring the original season in its entirety to this summer is not possible. As such, we will postpone this stellar line up of shows until we are able to present these titles without restrictions.
Our Re-Opening and Summer Season Committees, in conjunction with our Board of Directors and Theatre Staff, are working diligently to be able to bring back entertainment under the tent this summer with a specialty, one of a kind Summer Showcase that will align more favorably with the current mitigations established by the state of Illinois. We hope to announce this unique line up of shows very soon, so stay tuned for more information!
For this unique Summer Showcase, we will not be utilizing season passes, but rather, individual tickets for every patron. Our Theatre Staff will be in touch with each of our Season Pass holders, both Permanent and Flex, very soon with your available options.
Until then, we want to say thank you, to everyone who has remained committed to seeing Corn Stock Theatre sustain through these unprecedented times. We are humbled by your continued support and are excited to safely welcome you back to the Tent this summer!
To learn more about how this may affect you as a Season Pass patron, please visit our FAQ page by clicking here: 2021 Summer Season Update & FAQ's.
Friends, we can’t thank you enough for sticking by us during such challenging times for live theatre and we can’t wait to see you again very soon under the tent! |

TALK RADIO Casting Announcement
|
|
|
Director Chris Peterlin is excited to announce the cast for TALK RADIO as part of Corn Stock's Digital Play Series.
Chris says "Theatre is like a game of chess. To win you have to make decisions you like and some that are hard. Knowing which decisions to make comes with insight and knowledge, and by learning the lessons that are offered every day in community theatre... and we are all pawns in the game.
"I would like to first say that I am humbled by not only the amount of interest that was shown in this show but also by the phenomenal level of talent from the community who auditioned. It was hard making some of the decisions I had to make. I would encourage everyone to continue to audition. You are all very talented! This is a great show and a story that needs to be retold, especially in today's world."
Congratulations to the cast of Talk Radio! (Listed in order of appearance.)
Sid Greenberg :: Nathan Irwin Betty (Bernie) :: Tameka Mason Stu Noonan :: Charlie Brown Linda MacArthur :: Megan Pulley Spike :: Megan Johnston Barry Champlain :: Paul Gordon Dan Woodruff :: Jeff Craig Kim (Kent) :: Rachel Lard Dr. Susan Fleming :: Amy Williams Robert :: Jeramie Glass Callers :: Tameka Mason, Sarah Wynn, Jeramie Glass, Patrick Bell, and Amy Rajsky
Talk Radio is a 1988 Pulitzer Prize Finalist in Drama written by Eric Bogosian that has been remarked as "a compelling work that draws you straight into the heart of its fringe world." Barry Champlain, Cleveland's controversial radio host, is on the air doing what he does best: insulting the pathetic souls who call in the middle of the night to sound off. Tomorrow, Barry's show is going into national syndication and his producer is afraid that Barry will say something that will offend the sponsors. This, of course, makes Barry even more outrageous. Funny and moving, off beat, outrageous and totally entrancing, Talk Radio had a long run at New York's Public Theatre starring the author.
Talk Radio will stream ON DEMAND for ONE DAY ONLY on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Tickets will be available soon at www.cornstocktickets.com! Individual tickets are $15 and Family tickets are $20! Once you have purchased a ticket, you will receive a viewing link and a unique activation code in your confirmation email. You'll use this link to access the secure viewing site. Once activated, your viewing link will allow viewing of the show 24 hours from the time of activation. To watch the show, just click the "Start Stream" button at any time during the viewing window (From 12:00AM to 11:59PM on May 29th)! |
