Monday & Tuesday, October 28 & 29 at 6pm

Location: Corn Stock Theatre Center

Auditions will be held as open auditions. Director recommends coming at start times so that you can be seen with other auditioners. Sides will be provided at auditions to read. The director can provide the modern adaptation as written by Amy De Trempe-Williams a/k/a Jane Charles

Characters:

Letitia Hardy – Female, Young Adult (early 20s) – Lead –. Letitia Hardy is the daughter of Hardy, a wealthy businessman. Determined, witty, intelligent, beautiful, marriage betrothed eighteenth century plan, tough disguise, independent, high-spirited. She does need to sing, one song at the end. Or it can be a spoken verse.

Doricourt – male – 24 (age given in script) – Lead –Doricourt is a handsome, wealthy, and well-traveled bachelor who betrothed marriage, indifferent bachelor, amusing.

Sir George Touchwood – male 32 (age given in script) – Supporting – Sir George Touchwood is a friend of Doricourt –Friend, husband, jealous, quick-tempered, hot-tempered, fiery, fiery temper, married, brutish.

Lady Frances Touchwood – Female, young adult – Supporting –, married, naïve, innocent, beautiful, sheltered, shy.

Courtall – male – adult – supporting – misogynist, scoundrel, womanizer, bachelor, lecherous, lustful, English accent, embarrassed, humiliated.

Flutter – Male – adult – supporting –. Flutter is a gossip, a liar, and general mischief-maker in Society.

Hardy – Male Mature adult (56 per script) – supporting –. Father, businessman, Confused, Tough, Old Fashioned, Robust.

Miss Ogle – Female – Adult, Mature Adult (according to the script, she is 6 years older than Letty/Miss Hardy) – Supporting –. Miss Ogle is a spinster and a good friend of Mrs. Rackett. Liberal, double Act Friend, Encouraging, Honest.

Mrs. Rackett – Female – adult, Mature adult- Supporting –Mrs. Rackett is a widow and a good friend of Miss Ogle. Frint, Blunt, Honest, Boisterous, Proactive. Liberal, Progressive.

Saville – Male -Adult – Supporting – (23 per script). Saville is a good friend of Doricourt. He is kind, quiet and honest, loyal, Gentle-mannered, honorable.

Dick – Male – Young Adult – Featured –– Dick is one of Courtall’s friends. Extra for masquerade.

Mask – Male – Adult – Featured –Works for Silvertongue as a puffer, working-class, disguise.

Louis -– Male – Adult – Featured –French Valet/Servant/Porter works for Doricourt. In an early scene – servant, honest, loyal.

Gibson – Touchwood’s Servant.

Silvertongue – male – adult, mature adult – Featured –Silvertongue owns the auction house and employees Mrs. Fagg, smooth-talking auctioneer, eloquent. Extra – scene at masquerade.

Villers – Male – Adult – Featured –Villers is an honorable and sophisticated man about town. Friend, loyal, sophisticated, discreet.

Kitty Willis – Female – young adult – Featured – Kitty Willis plays a small but essential role in that play. She is a high class and known escort disguised, playful, happy-go-lucky.
